How does Tax by Mail work?

Mail your tax papers to P.O. Box 9, Onalaska, WI  54650-0009.

  • We’ll call with questions or for planning.

  • We’ll send your completed return back via USPS Priority Mail.

  • You'll mail back your signed forms in our included envelope.

Tips for Mailing Tax Papers

Place your tax papers in the mail to us no later than:

  • March 28th if using Priority Mail

  • March 23rd if using First Class Mail

  • March 15th if you have a complicated tax return, such as small business, farm, rental, or other involved tax situation.

First Class mail is usually sufficient, but Priority Mail is faster and provides tracking.

Expensive mailing like Express or Overnight is usually not necessary.

Don't leave any important mail in your home mailbox overnight.

We rarely have issues with mail, but it is a good idea to make a back-up copy of your documents and notes before mailing.

How do I pay for my tax preparation with Tax by Mail?

  • The invoice for our preparation will be in with your completed tax return. Please return a check in the same envelope provided for your return signed forms.

  • If you would like to pay with your bank account online instead of mailing a paper check, use this link: Pay Invoice.

I received my return and invoice by mail. Can I still pay with my credit or debit card?

What methods of payments to you accept?

  • By mail, you can include a paper check when mailing back signed forms.

  • To pay with your bank account, credit, debit card online, use this link: Pay Invoice.

  • For card payments, we accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover and American Express.

Can you take my preparation fee from my refund?

  • No, sorry, we don’t use those programs.
